HP Diagnostics CSO Number
Recently we had a need to run full system diagnostics on a 1.5 year old HP Notebook. So we visited the HP PC Hardware Diagnostics page from hp.com and downloaded the ‘HP PC Hardware Diagnostics 3-in-1 USB Key’ utility (filename: sp72497.exe).
Once the sp72497.exe file is downloaded onto your computer, it needs to be extracted into an automatically created folder called ‘swsetup’. First of all, make sure that when you extract sp72497.exe that it is being extracted on an HP Desktop or HP Notebook. We were attempting to extract it onto a Dell computer and we kept receiving a message that the C drive did not have enough free space. When it actually had almost 700GB of drive space available on C. So make sure you extract it using an HP computer. Since it is an HP diagnostic utility it only makes sense that it is happiest with an HP computer product.
Once extracted into the swsetup folder make sure you have your USB flash drive ready as it will automatically ask for it to be inserted. Once inserted it asks what drive letter the USB flash drive has been assigned. Look under Computer and enter the assigned drive letter and hit enter. Follow additional prompts.
Once the USB flash drive is ready, go ahead and insert it into the HP computer that you need to diagnose if it isn’t already. Reboot the HP computer and immediately press the Esc key. This will bring up a list of startup options. Select F2 for Diagnostics.
HP Diagnostics CSO Number and Agent ID
Now this is where we ran into an issue. Once we pressed F2 for Diagnostics it immediately prompted us to enter a CSO Number. What is a CSO Number? It stands for Customer Service Order number. Since this utility is used by HP field technicians this is where the field tech would enter the order number for the service call. To make a long story short, we simply entered 1234 for the CSO Number and that was accepted. It then prompted us for an Agent ID, and once again we entered 1234 which at that point gave us access to run a variety of diagnostics. In the below image you can see both CSO Number and Agent ID. We hope this additional information helps someone else.

Из-за того, что файлы CSO имели целых 9 уровней сжатия, места они занимали немного, хотя такое преобразование иногда приводило к отставанию в играх.
Решить её пытались введением новых форматов типа .dax и .jso, но из-за своих недостатков они применялись гораздо реже.
Преимуществом расширения cso является не только сокращение пространства, но и минимальное использование встроенных в консоли накопителей.
Это позволяло в какой-то степени увеличить и эксплуатационный срок всей приставки в целом – хотя намного чаще консоли выходили из строя из-за проблем с экраном и аккумулятором.

Открыть такие файлы получается не всегда – в первую очередь, из-за защиты, которая устанавливается на них компанией Sony для предотвращения портирования игр на ПК.
Таким образом, даже правильной установленные и работающие эмуляторы не являются гарантией работы на компьютере или смартфоне игрового приложения с расширением. cso.
Создать, а точнее сжать файлы CSO можно с помощью конвертера PSP ISO Compressor.
По этой причине желательно выбирать компромисс между качеством сжатия и временем его запуска.

Проблемы с открытием
В тех случаях, когда игровая консоль не может прочитать созданный образ, причиной обычно является слишком большое название.
Так, например, файл с именем, которое состоит из 30–40 букв, стоит переименовать, оставив не больше 10–12 символов.
Если файл не открывается на ПК, причиной может быть:
Если пользователь попробовал запустить файл CSO, учитывая причины ошибки (то есть, временно отключив антивирус, освободив место на диске или скачав новый неповреждённый файл).
Если проблема не решается, можно оставить попытки запуска или обратиться к специалистам.
Хотя иногда причиной может оказаться принадлежность файла к другой категории, не имеющей никакого отношения к играм для PSP.
Ещё один способ использования расширения
Имя такого объекта CSO совпадает с названием исходного файла.
Файлы компилируются с помощью специальной функции glCompileShader, а для открытия требуются такие приложения как OpenGL SDK или Microsoft Visual Studio.

Are you referring to using a third party diagnostics tool to test the motherboard and GPU?
The only reason you will not be able to test the motherboard and GPU is because it is not possible to determine the issue correctly on those components only using the diagnostics.

No. I am talking about the HP UEFI diagnostics. The desktop diagnostics contain a number of tests that are not available for some reason on my version. Specifically, the HP UEFI page shows targeted tests specifically for the motherboard and for the graphics card/graphics memory.
My hardware has passed every test I have been able to throw at it, but I still cannot boot into Windows. Of course, the only components that I have not found 3rd party tests for are the AMD Radeon card and it’s discreet memory—or a 3rd-party test for the motherboard. Test for the GPU/memory and the motherboard exist, but I cannot find non-windows versions. HP has them available that I can boot from USB just like I need, but not for my specific machine version.
Thus, the 3-in-1 diagnostic tool that HP offers is my best hope. But I need the key in order to use it. I have no remaining warranty to void, so that is not a worry. In fact, I am faced with possibly buying a new motherboard. I just cannot justify that until I am able to run a diagnostic on those components to make sure that that money actually does need to be spent.

This is an odd statement. ANY diagnostic test is better than no test at all. The tests do exist, and I really need to get access to them.
